Our goal is to make all of our products in a safe environment from sustainable materials that last a lifetime.
HIGH-QUALITY AND SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
At Anna + Nina, we believe in the power of high-quality materials that not only look beautiful, but also retain their value. We use premium materials like gold, silver, freshwater pearls and precious gemstones in our jewellery collections. Our pieces are designed to be heritage-worthy, to be cherished and passed on for generations.
Currently, 75% of our collection is crafted from materials that retain their value, and we will maintain this percentage with our sustainable buying policy. Besides retaining their value, the main materials in our jewellery collections can be recycled endlessly. We’re also proud to say that 100% of our 14K gold is recycled, all Anna + Nina products, including our clothing line, are 100% plastic-free, and many products in our home and clothing collections are made from renewable materials like glass and textiles. In rare cases, we may use small plastic parts like a lamp socket or closure for clothing. This accounts for less than 1% of our overall materials footprint.
To take things to the next level, we’ve set ambitious targets to increase the share of (certified) sustainable materials in our collections. And we’ve decided to only work with suppliers who prioritize sourcing these materials whenever possible.
PACKAGING
The first thing you see when you receive your order is the packaging of our products. And we believe that the materials we use in our packaging are just as important as the ones we use in our products, which is why we actively seek alternatives that are renewable and recyclable and explore ways to reduce the amount of packaging material we use. Towards the end of 2023, you will see different (and much more sustainable) packaging than you are used to, and we will tell you all about it soon.
While we aim to minimize our use of plastic, it’s sometimes necessary to prevent the oxidation of jewellery during transport. Therefore, some of our jewellery products are still wrapped in plastic.
