Costa Brava Tips

by Eva (Social Media & Content Coordinator)

To kick off the sunny season, our beloved Social Media & Content Coordinator, Eva, has compiled a list of her favourite spots along the Spanish Coastline of the Costa Brava. From lovely beaches to the perfect hotels, she's penned it down for us. We don’t believe in gatekeeping:

Cala Sa Tuna

Cala Sa Tuna is a picture-perfect beach where you can savour the prettiest sunrise. So, set your alarm, wrap yourself in a cosy sweater, and take your coffee along for a sunrise to remember.

Platja d’Aiguablava

This is a charming and intimate beach with sandy shores and crystal-clear blue waters. Bring along your favourite games and beverages to bask in a full day of sun with your friends. And if you think it couldn't get any better than this, you're mistaken! This beach also has a great restaurant (Toc al Mar) where you can indulge in the best paella. Tip: reserve a spot in advance by the railing for a front-row seat with a stunning sea view.

Restaurants

Clara

Located in the heart of Begur, Clara boasts the cosiest garden where you can relish Spanish cuisine with a twist.

Margarita

This place isn't just perfect for Instagram shots; you can also enjoy the most delicious food right by the beach in Calella de Palafrugell.

Cap sa Sal

Cap sa Sal is a fancier restaurant with a beautiful location on top of a cliff where you can enjoy the prettiest views, especially the sunset at night. If you want to surprise a special someone or just want to dress up and have a fun night with your friends, this is the perfect place.

Toc Al Mar

This restaurant is located at the Cala Sa Tuna beach and is the perfect last stop of your beach day. Order the paella and some sangria to enjoy with it.

What to do

One thing we highly recommend when you're holidaying in the Costa Brava is taking a hike from Platja d’Aiguablava to Platja Fonda. It's a fantastic hike suitable for anyone, and along the way, you'll come across the most beautiful homes and secluded coves. If you're up for a refreshing dip, Plata Fonda awaits you.

Hotels

La Bionda in Begur is a great home-away-from-home option to discover the Costa Brava from. This boutique hotel, located in the heart of Begur, is run by two Spanish women, Carla and Clara.

The building, dating back to the 17th century, has been completely restored, exuding exceptional charm. The interior is exquisite and picture-perfect in every way. The hotel even features an honesty bar where you can help yourself to delicious cocktails, refreshing beers, and great wines. The concept is simple: you write down what you drink, and they trust you on your honesty (we absolutely love this idea!).

As a company owned and (almost) entirely run by women, we're especially drawn to this fun fact about the hotel: In the 1930s, the building housed influential women of the time. Intellectuals, writers, actresses, singers, artists, sportswomen, and women from all over the world held a prominent position in the early 20th century.
