Give A Pon Gaia Slippers
The Give A Pon Gaia Slippers are colourful and cosy and will be the perfect addition to keep your feet warm during the cold winter days. The outside of this slipper is made of wool from a white sheep. The patterns have a combination of rust red, light brown and ocher yellow. The stitching with which the edge is finished in white. Light brown and ocher yellow are reflected in the pompom.
This slipper in soft earth tones is named after the Greek goddess of the earth, the primordial mother. In Greek Mythology, Gaia is often depicted as a chubby woman rising from the earth to symbolize her attachment to it.
Give A Pon is founded by Julia Brants and Denise Huntink. They both made a separate trip to Greece, and fell in love with the folklore slipper with colourful pompom. They brought back the original stitching patterns on the slippers, created their own colour combinations and covered the foot with a hundred percent sheep’s wool. All the slippers are made in a small atelier in Greece by local craftsmen.
